MOUNTAIN SHADOWS PHOENIX RESORT REVIEW
It is part of the fun of visiting a new (or well-loved) city to stay in wonderful hotels. Luxury resorts are aplenty in Phoenix and surrounding central Arizona areas, including spas and golf courses. My most recent trip to Phoenix included a stay at Phoenix Mountain Shadows outside of Scottsdale. Here is some information about this gorgeous resort and what you can expect if you decide to stay there in the Phoenix area.
ABOUT MOUNTAIN SHADOWS
Camelback Mountain and Mummy Mountain are perfectly visible from the grounds of Mountain Shadows, a boutique resort in Paradise Valley. The 1959 opening gave the hotel its name because of its geographic location. The resort was a feature of the upscale town over the years, attracting Hollywood producers, international tourists, and families. After having many different owners throughout its history, the resort's name remained the same even following its closure in 2004 and reconstruction in 2017.
While the resort was completely rebuilt and reopened in 2017, the property's history still remains. Incorporating 50s and 60s-inspired architecture and a breeze block by the pool, Mountain Shadows Resort gives homage to its long history as well as its location.
For our girls trip to Phoenix, Mountain Shadows was the perfect place to stay. The resort is a beloved and iconic destination for travelers in Phoenix and Scottsdale.

Mountain Shadows is located in Paradise Valley, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, near Scottsdale. Luxury resorts like Mountain Shadows are part of the region's upscale lifestyle, which includes luxury golf courses, shopping and dining. The town is one of the top tourist destinations in Arizona and is the state's wealthiest municipality. While Mountain Shadows isn't directly in Phoenix, it is less than 30 minutes from Downtown Phoenix, making it an ideal home base for your Arizonan adventure. Getting to the hotel from the airport is also a breeze!

In Mountain Shadows, the Citizens Club encompasses all fitness and swimming facilities. which was established in 1961 with the aim of creating a community of outstanding quality of life by The Citizens Committee. We fulfill this mission at Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale by offering our guests a wide variety of activities. This includes Pilates, classic and aerial yoga, cycle and barre classes, and more.
Golfing
A par-3 course, the Short Course at Mountain Shadows is a great option for golfers of all levels. Golf.com called it one of the best par-3 courses in America. In the rugged Sonoran Desert in Phoenix, practice your swing while enjoying beautiful views. The resort fee also includes access to the golf putting green, if you don't want to play 18 holes.
Dining
In Mountain Shadows resort's Hearth 61 restaurant, renowned Chef Charles Wiley serves a modern American menu. Hearth 61 creates delicious flavor pairings based on ingredients. Hearth 61's open-layout restaurant and bar is perfect for dinner or drinks, and if you're an interior design lover like me, you'll love to hear that Architectural Digest named it one of the most beautiful bars in the state. Stepping inside certainly explains why, though it's hardly noticeable as you still have a clear view of the mountains nearby.
On The Short Course at Mountain Shadows, check out Rustys golf grill. There's nothing better than watching a few holes and sipping a few beers at a grill.
Spa Services
Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale offers massage services in your room if you want to treat yourself during your vacation. If you're looking for a spa experience that is even more immersive, look no further. At Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa, the Mountain Shadows concierge can help you plan the perfect spa day.
